Fall has settled over the Idaho panhandle in the most beautiful way — golden light on Lake Pend Oreille, crisp evenings, and a calendar full of reasons to get out. Here is your week ahead, October 6 through 11, from the mountain to the lake cities.

Tuesday night starts with karaoke at Roxy's in Sandpoint (215 Pine St.), where KJ Crooze keeps the mic hot from 9 p.m. Wednesday belongs to Sandpoint: students walk to school at 7 a.m. for Walk to School Day, then the afternoon brings the Sandpoint Farmers' Market (3–5:30 p.m., Farmin Park) in its final weeks of the season. Catch live piano from Dwayne Parsons at Pend d'Oreille Winery (4–7 p.m., 301 Cedar St.), the season-finale Aster After Hours at 924 W. Superior St. (5–7 p.m.), and live trivia with Toshi at Connie's Lounge (7 p.m., 323 Cedar St.). In Post Falls, the ABLE Workshop runs 5:30–7:00 p.m. at the Disability Action Center on Mullan Ave.

Thursday is film night: the Quality Ski Time Film Tour lands at The Hive (207 N. First Ave., Sandpoint) at 5 p.m. for a 21+ winter-sports movie night fundraiser. Bluegrass fans get a jam with Dan at Connie's at 5:30. In Coeur d'Alene, King of the Cage throws down at the Coeur d'Alene Casino at 7 p.m., and The Red Books Band plays Treehouse CDA at 7 p.m.

Friday, KOWTA headlines Black Lodge Brewing (206 N. 3rd St., Coeur d'Alene) from 8 p.m. with a heavy-bass electronic bill — 18+, $10 presale. The Moose Lounge hosts live music at 8:30 p.m., and the Coeur d'Alene Casino's Lucky 7 Bingo Weekend kicks off with Wiebe Jammin' playing the Chinook Lounge 6–9 p.m. Post Falls celebrates the New Leaf Nursery Fall Festival all weekend long.

Saturday is the big one in Sandpoint: the Farmers' Market (9 a.m.–1 p.m., Farmin Park), Apple Fest at the Cedar Street Bridge (11 a.m.–4 p.m., with a pie contest and a chance at ZZ Ward tickets), Matchwood Brewing's fourth annual Oktoberfest at the Granary (noon–6 p.m., 513 Oak St., benefiting the Bonner Community Food Center), and the Ending Hunger, Bite by Bite fundraiser at the Bonner County Fairgrounds (5–8 p.m., 4203 N. Boyer Rd.). Coeur d'Alene adds a Seed Saving and Share the Harvest Swap at 10 a.m. and a Houseplant Swap at 1 p.m., both at the public library.

Sunday winds down gently: a free robotics workshop for kids 7–14 at the Best Western Plus Coeur d'Alene Inn at 10 a.m., then the Vintage Dance Party at 221 E. Railroad Ave. in Post Falls — jitterbug lesson at 3 p.m., social dance 4–6 p.m., $15 for both.

On the mountain, Schweitzer is savoring the quiet fall between seasons — Cambium Spa and village dining are open year-round, and Ikon Pass prices go up after October 8 for anyone planning ahead. Through it all, make The Village Overlook your home base: a warm condo above the Schweitzer village with every one of these adventures an easy drive away. See you on the mountain.
